Was only about 6 years ago or so. His voice is different, he’s missing most of his teeth, he looks like he’s really been through it. I’m still sort of in disbelief as we’re catching up. We talk for about 20-30 minutes and I ask him if I can drive him somewhere. 👇

He politely declines, we check to see if we have each other’s phone numbers, etc. He tells me he’s had some problems with opiates but he’s better now. We part ways and I get in the car and just fuckin bawl my eyes out on the way home. I’m getting a little emotional about it right now, even. 👇
