I have a lot of family in that area. This fits something they would do. It's awful the mentality so many have in most of NY. I ended my relationship with all of them in the summer of last year. My heart grieves for what that young man experienced and the grief his family will forever endure. 😢
Everyone I know from the area is horrified, and every murder that occurs in this area is the main local story for the next six months. This is the single worst murder case I have seen from this area as well.
It plays to MAGA / Hitler playbook. Demonize them, then dehumanize them. Then killing and torture become "acceptable". Trump brings out the latent worst in people. Don't let it happen. Don't accept the hate and normalize it. This is a horrible story.

Yes, but a sane one, unlike the ones MAGA sings about. The "city" part of the town itself is rather progressive (massive support for Hochul and LGBTQ, with the last school board election in 2024 resulting in the homophobes losing in a landslide).
