Safety is complex. Fatalities per mile driven are high but deaths per crash are not. If you look at their safety vs other vehicles with high acceleration they are quite good (turns out idiots shouldn't have sub 4 second 0-60) . Determining what is due to acceleration vs touch screen is tricky.

I believe all high acceleration vehicles should require specialized drivers licenses and touch functionality on screens should be for when the vehicle is stopped (physical buttons or voice when moving). Tesla is the poster child for screens and high acceleration in mass market but is not unique.
