So this extra 2025 Bank Holiday... what do we reckon? The government has said probably not, but do we think it might happen? Or is that just wishful thinking on a grey rainy Sunday in December?

I've always thought Rememberence Monday (the day after Rememberence Sunday) would be a good space for an extra public holiday and would also hopefully provide a break to stop Christmas decorations going up in October!
We're way behind the majority of countries for BHs, plus the ones we have are clumped together (we've got 3 in 7 days coming up!!), so it would be good to have another. The obvious time would be around the October half term, as lots of people off around then anyway. Just need the right reason
The reality is that quite a lot of people will be obliged to work that day. It's like weekends, a lot of them aren't any more. I have an interest in WW2 but many do not and won't recognise its significance.
The country loses several millions of pounds in GDP for every bank holiday, so doubtful that another bank holiday will be sanctioned by a govt focused on growth.
