This was likely a plan all along - to disappear some immigrant who is legally in the US and then defy the Supreme Court' and other courts' orders about bringing him back - so that Trump could start disappearing American citizens who he doesn't like for any reason in foreign concentration camps.

If they had any evidence of either, they would not have needed to kidnap him, traffic him to a foreign prison, and do everything possible to deny him due process.
