Centuries ago, people in Lebanon were burning "pine trees" to a Babylonian deity on the 5th of December. The early catholic church which was holding their annual prayer mass on Dec.25, invited these pagan worshippers to join in worship on this day and be part of their church. The rest is history!
There was a great documentary on YouTube about how after I died Rome commandeered a whole bunch of pagan rituals but this one spoke about Christmas specifically. Super interesting!
The Christmas ritual predates "Christ." Originally a sun worship festival, the "birthday of the sun" was celebrated by all the ancients. It went through name changes and different gods shared the same birthday but it was always the Winter Solstice being observed. "Christ" fit comfortably into this.
One of several Natural Law Pagan Holidays annually when a ritual meditation feels appropriate to be a Goldilocks Zone child from a little known spiral galaxy.
What is a ‘true Christian’? Brought up as Primitive Methodist in kind a loving churches, found nothing similar in other churches since. Met Wonderful
People of all religions and none. So I’ll celebrate the kindness within my Christian upbringing by sharing it and love my tree! 🤷🏼♀️
Christmas wasn't much of a holiday when I grew up in the 50s Prespyterian Scotland, especially if it fell on a Sunday. Too much idolatry and frivolity, tut tut.
It didn't change until the 60s and 70s when the influence of TV became all pervasive.
New Year was the big holiday before Xmas.
Seems a load of people are unaware of the eternal story, redemption, or anything resembling historical accuracy. Pop history is so much easier to use to dunk on yourself without knowing it.
Getting a tree and decorating it? Total witchcraft—and we fully support it. Love from Stonehenge, where pagan roots run deep and magic is in the air. 🎄✨
Krampus was thought to have been part of pagan rituals for the winter solstice. According to legend, he is the son of Hel, the Norse god of the underworld.
While St. Nicholas rewards nice children by leaving presents, Krampus beats those who are naughty, eats them or takes them to hell.
Christmas Trees
Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's consort, is usually credited with having introduced the Christmas tree into England in 1840. However it was actually 'good Queen Charlotte', the German wife of George III, who set up the first known tree at Queen's Lodge, Windsor, in December 1800.
Wicca … Christianity is mainly based on Paganism and if you take a good look, it’s about respecting the natural world. In other words… it’s a good thing! Love my tree and the light it brings! Blessed Be!😉
So is Christmas as Jesus was born in the Spring. 25 December was chose to coincide with a pagan holiday. But that’s not important really is it? What’s important if you are Christian, Muslim, Jewish is to worship god. We should respect all faiths.
Thanks!
Not fancy we broke those ones years back 😂
We have teenage boys now but still a threat to the ornaments-virtual reality gaming. My middle son admitted to punching the tree. This was after I broke one just walking by.
Everybody going crazy brains for Christmas..
Seems to me that humanity has forgotten what this time was about. All you materialistic presents paying all of your attention to the wrong religion, you gotta stop making it all about Jesus: https://youtu.be/9-96YTHPlgU?si=5qyUsFAtF6Dbxc0Q

Christmas festivities have simply become too commercial, drunken and debauched.
Note: Presbyterians in Scotland had outlawed Christmas in 1640.
Good thing they didn’t have cars back then.
If you want to bring it back America needs more densely packed urban cores.
Saturnalia might have worked in 1920’s Hollywood but past that the whole thing would be mass carnage.
