GOV. SHAPIRO: “I understand people have real frustration with our health care system… but a civil society we are all less safe when ideologues engage in vigilante justice. He is no hero.”

People are murdered every single day. I don’t seem to remember multi-state manhunts for the other thousands of murder victims this year.
We don’t live in a civil society when justice is for sale. If I was murdered they wouldn’t approve overtime to investigate my murder!
Not Wealth CEO’s most just average Americans that died needless because of a president who decided a pandemic was a political tool and to add insult to injury is now give a chance to finish the job.
Not that he cares but there are a lot of people dying and it’s considered civil because it’s legal. It’s absurd to say we have an actual civil society. We have a machine with nice paint and it only cares about trampling on someone when they are “important” enough.
Governor Shapiro, what are you doing to ensure insurance executives aren't putting patients in jeopardy for profit?
Every politician who comes out with statements like this needs to be prepared to answer that question. Not because they're wrong to decry vigilantism, but because execs kill too.
A society in which corporations can legally murder tens of thousands of people no matter which political party is in the white house, is not a civil one.
I think the attraction comes from feeling that nobody is doing anything to fix our broken system. Along comes an unhinged person who right or wrong does something! Someone needs to wake up. Take the money out of our politics and start making decisions that benefit the citizens of this country.
So, were the founders heroes for firing on the redcoats? Vigilante Justice basically founded this county. We didn't have a standing army until war was declared
I find it interesting that he called this "vigilante justice" which implies that justice was needed just not done by the people who should bring justice to those who deserve it.
He's not a hero; but he's not the only villain in this narrative.
Wonder if the UHC investors who lost money not knowing UHC/BT was under investigation for fraud & insider trading weren't also cheering him on to just disappear.
Neither was the guy he killed. The guy he killed is a victim of gun violence just like thousands of victims in America every year. The healthcare ceo that signed off on paperwork that made people sicker and led to their deaths is no martyr either so stop trying to make him one.
In addition the late CEO was under
Investigation for fraud and insider trading
He was being sued
And Congress wanted to ask him a few questions about United Healthcare 's
Medicare advantage plans that better the corp millions In profits
"Frustration". Sure, it's pretty bad when you pay and pay, and then the thing you paid for is denied to you when your health needs saving. "Fury" is more like it though. Always count on officials to downplay the common man's plight.
Tons of cops acting out their frustration as vigilantes outside of the criminal justice system.
They murdered Rayshard Brooks for drunkenly falling asleep in a Wendy's drive thru.
Philando Castille. George Floyd. Many more.
OK, but neither is the CEO. And maybe the lesson that politicians should take from all of this is the reaction, from one end of the political spectrum to the other, of satisfaction that a 'healthcare' CEO finally finally paid for their crimes.
there is a comment and story (on another Writer's Platform) to be shared
on the
psychology of bandits and outlaws and Robin Hood, which probably applies here.
Methinks they forget exactly what 'vigilante' means. He's no hero to YOU, to those that are fearful of them being next. To us, who have been royally fucked by the system constantly? Yes, he's a hero.
I'm gonna post this again...Sorry gov. In America, we do LITERALLY allow insurance companies to kill people IN COLD BLOOD to resolve "policy" differences. It's called denied, out of network, experimental, unnecessary, etc. etc. etc. Wrong side brother. Try again.
Civil society? Well fuck that. When the FBI and the NYPD put up money to find the suspect cause the dead man was a millionaire but they couldn’t be bothered with protecting the common man. Piss off
Why is the governor of a state where the crime did not happen having a press conference about this? Does he do press conferences for all murders that happen in his state or any time a murderer is caught in the state he governs? /s I know it’s because he’s vying to run for President in 2028.
“we don’t kill people in cold blood” unless you’re: black, homeless, poor, a kid in a school, live in the middle east, disabled, or are a pregnant woman.
I agree vigilante justice doesn’t solve the problem. But what will, and why isn’t Shapiro leading us towards the solution? A civil society isn’t safe when healthcare is a for-profit business that puts earnings ahead of patient care.
Your out of network claim has been denied because you don't know the referral number. Also, cold blood is a pre-existing condition, and we'll need to get continuous provider paperwork from your previous provider before consideration for coverage.
I'm already not safe in the current environment of corporate healthcare, among conservatives who hate anyone who isn't a cis straight Christian™️ white male, and armed idiots everywhere.
Every democrat and media outlet that attacks us for our Understanding of why someone might do this is cancelled as far as I'm concerned. I won't forget and I won't forgive. I expect this shit from Republicans but the Overly tone deaf dems, no excuse to continue to abandon the working class.
This guy pretty blatantly covered up a murder because the killer was connected to a donor. Why are we still treating him as if he is a serious political figure.

…why is he giving disappointed dad energy? 😂

But where is the “we must do better for our people who need health care”?
Why is it people gloss over important points like this one?
Does himself no good at all and completely unnecessary. Why would the Gov if a large state nbe the go to guy here?
Every politician who comes out with statements like this needs to be prepared to answer that question. Not because they're wrong to decry vigilantism, but because execs kill too.
I hope it was worth it to them, the tens of millions that may just do whatever the F they want now, to put themselves above it.
Justice comes one way or another.
Gov needs to fuck off.
Look the fuck around.
Look at Trump & his future oligarchy.
Does this look like a fucking civil society?
America? Civil?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Someone’s been under a rock for the past decade.

Thompson was no angel
Our "healthcare" system murders us for profit,
with government sanction.
The serial killer in a tie that was taken off the board,
was nothing of value lost.
Side with them at your peril, right wing scumbags.
I hope you don't feel safe anymore.
Like the rest of us.
Russian Revolution
See any similarities?
They murdered Rayshard Brooks for drunkenly falling asleep in a Wendy's drive thru.
Philando Castille. George Floyd. Many more.
Huh?
Shapiro knows full well you don't call a suspect a "killer".
Wtf is going on

Let Them Eat Cake!(?)
when we have politicians sent to 'mind the store'
and their work is only to steal from it;
is that a part of 'civil?'
on the
psychology of bandits and outlaws and Robin Hood, which probably applies here.
Want fewer murders? Make better laws.
He can't sit this one #FakeObama 😒
UnitedHealth is the 11th largest company in THE WORLD.
Millions have already died by their hand.
Killing whats-his-name is a problem.
But it might wake us up so we can discuss UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE.
😉
(I'm sure someone else can do a far better job than what I just did - there's too many Trumpisms to remember them all)
WE ARE ALL LESS SAFE when we can’t obtain health care motherfucker
He may not be a hero. He may not be on "my side"
look at what's coming.. the opposite of civil...
That Thompson was NO ANGEL
