Sksk the fandom's pretty much made their own fanon story for him, one of the most common fan story was that he was killed by Zira.

Others have made their own versions of him being lost/accidentally separated from his pride, wasn't too keen on being king or became corrupted.

He was the firstborn son of Simba and Nala from the "TLK: Six New Adventures" spin off books in the 90s. Way before the sequel movie was made with Kiara being the firstborn cub instead.

He isn't canon but the TLK fandom considers him to be semi-canon since the books were approved by Disney.
