If Marner had left Matthews open to score the winning goal, Leaf fans who hate him would have clamored for his being traded, yet they are silent when Matthews is the one in the crosshairs. Not saying Matthews isn't great. He is. I'm saying fans who hate Marner are lousy judges of hockey ability.
