Shopify CEO Tobi Lutke is calling for the end of Canada’s public postal service because its workers have gone on strike.
The company’s leaders are increasingly pushing extreme right-wing positions in Canada. Gutting Canada Post would effectively end delivery in many rural and remote communities.

absolute clown
He doesn’t say Canada Post should cease to exist, or cease to be a public service, as I read it.
But the total shutdown of it? These are not serious people.
They're the only company willing to guarantee service for Canadians outside urban areas.
FedEx is never going to deliver Aunt Shelly's Christmas cards for $1.
He’s part of the same franchise operation that spawned Gavin McDipstick and Jordie Defeaterson.
As Musk once said on X-Twitter " Government = Communism "
A true Plutocratic opinion that is bleeding across the border. Maybe Canada should build a wall. lol
Assuming its similar to the US landscape, that's EXPLICITLY because companies find those areas too unprofitable to service and the PS exists to ensure everyone is serviced regardless.
Imagine the Postal Worker on strike getting paid zero wages while on strike.
-Canada Post management locked the workers out too.
I will be boycotting Shopify then. #BoycottShopify
"WHY ARE THEY THE ONLY CARRIER SERVICING RURAL AREAS, TOBI?"
He over charges for web pages too.
Canadian handmade goods get buried by Chinese imports.
Not sure if Shopify even integrates the Canada Post API into their shipping modules.

or would he find it too unprofitable ?
It's amazing how many lucky dipshits don't grasp "right place, right time."
They should had their e-commerce years ago, except too many incompetent executives at Canada Post holding the corporation back.
It’s greed big businesses like Amazon’s hiring foreign workers willing to come to the country for below minimum wage pay.
These people are ridiculous and need to be taxed far more than they are now.
Just can't quite finish the thought.
Good.
That's what they're trying to do in the US.
It’s not even a government service, it’s an arm’s length federal government owned corporation, called a ‘Crown Corporation’ for the same reason we’ll have Charles the T’ird on our money soon.
‘Crown’ corp describes gov’t ownership, eg SaskTel, CBC, Farm Credit Corp, etc.
