Ultimately Trump/Musk/Vance are going to end the US' scientific leadership in the world, with devasting effect on US security and power... basically handing the world off to whomever can stand up the technology quickest (probably Europe, luckily, but also possibly China)

The relationship between the US and its traditional allies has irrevocably changed. Europe and countries like Canada can accept being under the boot of the US, or make the hard choice to reclaim their sovereignty and chart a different path for tech development.

As a US person, I highly encourage Europe and the world to ban or tightly restrict social media. Disinformation and manipulation by bad political actors had put us where we are now.
