To advance you have to interact with each of the different supernatural circles of the city at least once (Mortalis, Night, Wild, and Power). I think it's really cool, though in a short series like I'm in currently it can feel too slow unless the GM is really trying to push every circle in nearly every session, which doesn't always make sense. But when you have more room I think it's a really slick way to handle advancement.

That's my one concern. I'm about to run an 8-12 session campaign. I might do something like let players advance with 3 out of 4 marked or something.

We're doing a quarterly, so 3 months, about 12 sessions total. One thing to keep in mind is that they'll be taking Corruption moves too, so that does help it feel like advancement happens a little more quickly.
