A foreign policy/natsec reason to want Greenland is so the US has more control of the increasingly important arctic (trade, mineral extraction). However, I do not believe that that is his reason, it’s just chauvinism. The US could just cooperate with Denmark and get all the strategic benefits.

I'm like 90% convinced Greenland is in the crossfire because "We'll turn Greenland into Red, White, and Blueland" sounds like a witty soundbite from the perspective of an idiot baby child.
