Alaska has the highest per capita veteran population in the USA at just over 10% of the population.

Both of my sons are Vets here in Alaska. My oldest is rated 100 percent service connected disability. It's not looking good for him, and I'm doing all I can to help.

My husband is also a veteran and I worked at the VA in the past as a primary care provider for homeless veterans.

I figured it must be a high percentage. So many of us are here because of veterans who were posted in the state and decided to stay.
