I think website users are more likely to be experienced professionals, so I take that as a good sign. Apps are a pain when you have a few years on your belt, the phone interfaces are better for those with young eyes.
The use of a pc with a keyboard is infinitely more efficient than an app on a phone for writing a thoughtful skeet which may require some review and revisions, and the addition of a picture or a link.
Twitter was a means to an end, Elon could care less if Twitter implodes from everyone leaving, his return on his investment will be billion$ once he privatizes NASA, SSI and Medicare.
I think you have to see this sustain over a period of time before drawing any conclusions. No doubt that Bluesky is having a moment. With heavy usage, the sheen will wear off, and we'll see which of the platforms if either, sustains.
I frequently post about politics, and Threads seems to show my posts only to 2 people who are longtime friends who live in my neighborhood. On Bluesky, a wide range of people react to and interact with what I post.
Maybe it's because of the level of engagement and the interesting considerations I've been reading about in the past few days, but I love seeing that blue graph line shoot upwards. 😍
I gotta be honest there was nothing great about threads other than to get away from the X dumpster fire. Bluesky seems geared for making it tailored for you and what you want in a social app. And the people are neat.
Just wait until Elon sees Tesla's unit sales slide right off into the abyss.
Maybe the Financial Times need to do little deep dive into Elon's vaporware and false promises. https://www.youtube.com/@commonsenseskeptic
Why not the best? Someone asked Zuck early on to the effect how do you manage to get all that personal data for Facebook. He replied, they fu.. trust us! Dumber than dumb? Are people secret exhibitionists?
According to https://bsky.jazco.dev/stats Bluesky has more than 22m users globally, meaning the roughly 6m US users (according to @financialtimes.com) account for less than a third. Perhaps a comparison of Bluesky's and Thread's worldwide users across both web and app usage is more useful?
Love Bluesky! With Feeds I feel more like I'm in an actually community of people that share my interests instead of just a hodgepodge of random posts about anything. I never went to threads cuz Zuck is just as bad a Elon, honestly.
I just entered the blue sky.
Threads never did catch on.
Meta has great AI fun etc.
I'm trying to find the people I followed but I just about done with social media all together
I have the feeling that, contrary to what people like Musk or others may say, users want to find social networks on which it will be possible to debate. And that's good.
I’m happy to have joined Bluesky and to have abandoned X/Twitter.

Rot in hell X.
I never liked the fact that to delete Threads means you would lose your Instagram as well. So I never went in there.
BlueSky has people actually making the effort to join in from scratch.
DAU is a metric that needs a 3-6 month window to show if a platform really is popular.
Can't post on either, just reply

A lot of app traffic on phones is just background communications and not necessarily active use.

This place is already going downhill in the exact same way that other place is.
The bots are already here, en masse.
It started over the last couple of weeks when we heard of a "large influx of users".
As a white woman, the sheer number of rightwing, hateful white women on "meta" horrified me.
"Jesus loves you, UNLESS..." Okay, Beverly.
