I love me some spicy garlic but that's pricey, I can just add fresh garlic to my chili oil and I'm good.

We got really into making mapo tofu at home several years ago and got maybe a dozen kinds of chilis to follow a recipe to make our own chili oil, and it was great. I haven't tried homemade chili crisp like the Laoganma though.
