If you havenβt, read βNever cry wolfβ by Farley Mowat. Funniest and saddest book Iβve ever read. Not many books can have you howling with laughter, and then crying absolutely despondent in one short book. Thankfully, itβs mostly just funny.
Yes, theyβre letting you get to know them. Youβre supposed to sniff. They donβt know you canβt smell the handshake. Cats do this too. When a canine gets down on its front paws itβs called a play bow and it means theyβre playing and you should too.
Because they are not dogs. Probably evolved from a common ancestor but not the same. It's like saying "Gorillas are humans so teach them to drive cars"
β¨Oh yeah.. I'm from Montana originally. One time years ago while working with a sub contractor with the forest service. We found a litter of wolf pups after a fire. We gave them to a wolf rescue to raise and reintroduce into the wild! They were just as cute and playful as any puppies I've ever seen!
You can't take your children to the zoo without knowing how to explain "silly" things. Gotta be prepared for the hippopotamus to get all happy. We had yearly passes. π€£
Yeah, anyone who has ever had a female dog that wasnβt spayed, will recognize this behavior.
The βgoofyβ is almost panic. Thereβs a window of opportunity. She knows it. And will protect herself until sheβs ready. Then itβs, βAnyone, everyone, hurryβ π€·ββοΈ
In the wild, wolves love to play. The pack [their family] is not so different from a gathering of a human extended family. A "father" figure, a "mother" and tons of aunts, brothers, and sisters. And even an uncle or two. Yes, they do play.
Typical wolf packs are just the parents and their pups, rather than an extended family. There are occurrences where there will be more distantly related members, but itβs uncommon.
These wonderful beings need to be put back on their home ranges. Mankind nearly eliminated them, that would be the least we could do for these magnificent creatures!
I completely agree! It's heartbreaking to see such magnificent animals being hunted just for sport. They should be admired and protected, not targeted for entertainment. There's so much beauty in simply observing them in their natural habitat.
I, saved a Wolf Pup from a Hunter that had killed the Mother. She was the Most Beautiful Soul that was placed in my Life. Playful, yet Protective. Her Soul is imprinted in my Heart and Soul Forever.
There is no need to domesticate them, in my area they have never disappeared sometimes they approach like foxes and they are not aggressive, they must be respected. A pack of dogs can be more dangerous.

Interesting video except for the end when someone allows a wild animal to become used to a car.

Sheβs Craigslist adposting. Basically. Lmao
They knew when I was driving home with pig ears at 20 miles away.
Seriously
But your idea is also very likely.
They can when they want to!
Doesn't make sense
Silly is not how I would summarize this wolfβs behavior.

We all need some silly now.
