When I worked at Target my job was to re-do end caps. I'd show up to work and have a stack of 15 or 20 that needed to be done. They took about 45 minutes each. I had 8 hours. My supervisor might have starred one or two they cared about, top of list.

I'd leave undone ones with supervisor and clock off.
So often I trained new folks who spent time stressing about how 20 end caps × 45 minutes = more than 8 hours. And I would just say. "Yes. It is impossible. Do what you can do."
And that's how I always approach unreasonable expectations.
"Do what you can" is good advice for all employees. My brother, UPS guy for 25+ years, had 213 stops loaded on his truck Jan. 13 (after winter storm). He delivered 150, returned to base and told his boss, "I have a 200-mile rural route to drive, no way all these could get done today."

Next on list.
Then I'd group the rest by whatever order suited me. Two next to each other. Heavy laundry detergent at bottom of list. Etc.
Or if any had empty shelves currently and needed to be moved to the top of list. (Usually already supervisor priority.)
Then I'd start to work. Usually getting 8-12 done.
