Sometimes I think about how when I left church in 2018 I emailed my small group leader and pastor to tell them why and they basically said, "ok." And let me go. One was grateful I made the point to say it truly wasn't them, I saw them trying to shift the convo. And the other was mostly defensive.

March = time to search the Appalachian trail thru hiker tags to find people to follow this season.

This is a big key to anti-consumerism. Do the best you can and stretch to discomfort when possible. "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without."

You might not see it in the mainstream media, but over 10,000 people protested today at Tesla showrooms across the country, another 10,000+ rallied in support of national parks, and more than 1,000 gathered in Vermont to protest Vance’s visit.

Pro of the busy weekend is in already clocked a full day plus of work so I'm due a comp day.

Also got to see @fayelle.bsky.social and her girls today. 💜

About to go into a church service for the first time since 2018. (Work thing. Not a renewed interest in doing this.) Deep breaths.

I had to go to a place yesterday and also today. This is my formal complaint.

After not eating for DAYS. Fancy had had two dinners tonight. (Pureed cat treats.) We are grateful.

When I worked at Target my job was to re-do end caps. I'd show up to work and have a stack of 15 or 20 that needed to be done. They took about 45 minutes each. I had 8 hours. My supervisor might have starred one or two they cared about, top of list.

People assume they’ll be the exception. That disability, poverty, homelessness won’t befall them That if something “bad” happens, they will be able to “try harder” their way out of it. This false belief allows them to blame the ones who are suffering, instead of the oppressive systems that trap us

I’ve lost track of how many times they’ve broken something and then gamely tried to at least pretend to glue it back together.

A sick cat is so sad and pathetic. 😟 And so little we can do or know what she really wants/needs. Meds. 47 water and food bowls throughout the house. Gentle pets.

Back at the bet with a sick Fancy. 😞

I have actual tears in my eyes after looking at my calendar and seeing meetings from 9 am to 1:30. Deep breaths.

One one hand, my ability to lose things in our 555 Sq foot home is quite a skill..

Very dopey looking loaf of bread. Cut off the lumpy end though and using it for bread pizzas with last night's spaghetti sauce and some mozzarella.

I have owned this shirt since at least 2008. It's one of my go-to "pack for business trips" shirts. (I am not on a trip today.) I love that I spent probably less than $30 on something ~17 years ago and it's still going strong.

I found a package of onion soup mix in the pantry and am using it to bake a loaf of bread and it smells *really* good in my house.

Started the coffee maker without any water in it. I'm going to choose to believe that was the low point of the day and it can only go up from here.

Sometimes I think of how people I no longer speak to, for reasons either mundane or intentional, know so many private details of my life. And I know their's. Sometimes that is anxiety inducing for a private person. But sometimes it's beautiful. 1/

It's fun to list all the weird reasons I wasn't exposed* to various media of the 80s/90s to Joel. Cause he didn't grow up in a high control religion and responds with appropriate horror.

Lazy Sunday afternoon watching a Disney movie for a nice chill day without politics. Scar: 🎶"I will be king. Stick with me and you'll never go hungry again."🎵

So close to the goal!! Thanks to everyone who donated to help this sweet family! www.gofundme.com/f/support-a-...

I've taken to filling the cat's water bowl with a small pitcher on the days it doesn't need a full cleaning. She's obsessed. She loves it. She demands her bowl be topped off from a pitcher even if it's already mostly full. She must hear the sound of pouring water.
