Elon is working quickly on his plan to mess with S.Africa. He is doing it all on Main and nobody is stopping him? First USAID then gives 🍊47
the talking points against S. Africa. All the while buying more elections in other countries.
How has he not been arrested? This is a case for The Hague.
Can we do a refresher? I seem to have seen on St. Louis Fed that the maximum tax rate was 90% from after 1929 to after the end of WWII.
That’s what we would need, right?
It was only a year or two ago that Biden proclaimed 'I don't care how much money you make, as long as you pay your taxes.' Out the door, he bemoans the rise of American Oligarchs.
Somewhere between the two there is a lesson there about the unintended consequences of policy.
If you let the rich hoard wealth unchecked while meekly asking them to play fair, they'll tighten their grip on power long before any regulation dares to challenge them.
Unchecked capitalism is part of the problem. Countries that seem to have achieved a better society like Norway, Sweden or Finland have capitalism but it’s tempered w/a strong dose of socialism. Any extreme seems to lead to dysfunction.
The country has been inescapably entwined with capitalism since its inception, even enshrining the nadir of capitalist philosophy in its founding document.
The one potential bright side to the collapse of the US is that it could take capitalism with it. It might only need a little push.
I don't think it's one person. Zuck built a fortress to hide in. Musk-Chimp are co-presidents. Bezos has his share. Likely some others like Heritage. Klaus Schwab and WEF talked about this exact bullshit 4 years ago. They in on it too? Putin in on it?
