It was not that child's decision to die a miserable, pointless, and completely avoidable death.
Vaccines save lives.
Lies about vaccines killed this child.

For years.

There are kids who will have brain damage from measles encephalitis.

Kids who will lose hearing.

Kids who‘ll be blind.

Then, there‘s those tragic kids who‘ll have SSPE, and the parents who will have to watch their child die slowly, one small piece of them at a time over a year.

I think it had to happen. I think that humanity has to be reminded of the horrors of war, disease, poverty, etc every generation or two in order to remember that we're better off banding together than going it alone. I think it's a (fatal) flaw of humans.

I can't help think of another facet when I see stuff like this: how the dawn of vaccines for these childhood diseases freed women and families from the burden of ongoing illness, the expense and worry, the trauma and suffering of unnecessary childhood deaths.
