As someone who used to work in the industry, and left it because of the terrible quality and gouging prices we felt comfortable charging because ‘get as much as you can first time around, because they won’t be back’,… yep.

Some great places tbf, but the prices are unaffordable. Tastes are changing too. A chauffeur tour operator I work with told me recently a very wealthy client asked to leave Ashford after one night (of 3 booked). Too formal. Loved the exceptional farm guesthouse they moved to!

There are some cracking places, but there is also a section of the business that is mercenary and grabby. Get them in, get them out. Squeeze them for as much as possible. We should be concentrating on supporting the former not the latter.
