The other day listened to her final radio broadcast from her Berkeley days. (You can find it on the Internet Archive.) After she bags on Lawerence of Arabia, she castigates the owners of the radio station … whose response immediately follows. Quite a fight.

Love her, too, but man, she was extra.

(Which is not to suggest her beef with the radio station was meritless. More that doorknobbing one’s last broadcast with a hyper-literate airing of grievances is a lot. Can only imagine what listeners at the time thought about it all. Fascinating relic from another world.)
