Yes, the Palestinian people deserve much better. But let's not pretend that the leadership tries to fix this or is any good. If you even call Hamas leadership.
There are at least 4 different things we call Palestinian.
Israel's legitimacy is very nearly the same as that of the bulk of the United States. There's two ways to read that and I'd encourage you to thoughtfully consider both of them.
Arab Israelis? There are differences in rights but not at all on Apartheid levels.
Gaza Palestinians? Literally another, aggressive country.
Westbank? See 6 day war.
None of this justifies the decades of war, of persecution, of bloodshed. But the question of who has a right to be there is absolutely relevant, given the sides' stated goals.
