oh yeah VERY similar. It just adds that little nutty undernote to the sharpness of the cheese (I make Annie's White Cheddar mac!), and I am sure using it with real mac and cheese would be even better
I made Kraft back when I had no money (or even off brand blue box) but Annie's is my choice when I need to just put calories in my body, LMAO. Don't get in trouble with your exec chef

How is the nutty flavor?
I ask because I see some people use fresh nutmeg in their mac and I wonder if you can get a similar nutty flavor instead by just using brown butter?
