My main suspicion is that it’s more salt-intolerant than I’d thought, because where I’ve put it so far is an area that floods 2-3 times a year with brackish water. I know they’re not a salt LOVING plant but thought I had more wiggle room than perhaps I do 😅
Same reason Chelone glabra is a bad pick for sunny rain gardens.
But I am not confident I have a wet enough spot for the blue vervain to live its best life. But I love it so will try it a bunch of places and see what happens.
The only spot I've seen it growing wild around here was in a moist meadow and it was Very Tall and majestic. I yearn for as gorgeous an outcome 😂 does yours get tall?
