The vast majority of them are corporate owned "showrooms", not locally owned "dealerships". They provide nothing to the local community other than some low-level jobs.

As scummy as car dealership owners are (and they mostly support trump) they do at least sponsor kids sports teams sometimes.

There’s something mildly dystopian about seeing protests against the White House taking place at a car dealerships. Perhaps the inevitable conclusion of our money-in-politics problem… Really illustrates just how broken it all is, at its core.

I think this is a misread. I think it goes to show that a lot of people who are upset but otherwise wouldn't have a "valid" protest target all of the sudden do.

Feels no different to me than if there were MAGA stores you could buy stuff from. You'd see the same protests I think
