A climate action advocate running on a drained battery. I tried to convince y'all that the constant criticism of Democrats was going to put the GOP back in charge, but oh well here we are. Yes, I'll gladly accept the "insult" that Democrats are centrists

I really appreciated @hankgreen.bsky.social’s dire wolf video, which is really worth watching. He breaks down the science, the hype, and why it’s important to tell the truth about extinction: youtu.be/Ar0zgedLyTw?...

Right now solar is generating more electricity than coal in the nation's dirtiest grid, the PJM grid 💡🔌

Collective action gives me hope. Our democracy may be bending right now but it’s not gonna break. Thanks to The Dangerous Ones for hosting me on the pod!

Mark Zuckerberg gave Trump $25 million after the election in a settlement. He gave another million for Trump's inauguration. He wined and dined with Trump at Mar-a-Lago. Now Trump might pay him back by ending a trial that would break up Zuckerberg’s monopoly.

Trump inherited a historically strong economy and he is single-handedly destroying it—and Republicans are letting him. We have got to speak out.

As a long time supporter of civics education, I know that the National We the People competition is rigorous and requires high school students to have broad knowledge about constitutional issues & be able to debate and discuss historical & contemporary interpretations. www.koin.com/local/2-oreg...

Oh no, Senator Whitehouse, is worried about the quandary our corrupt SCOTUS justices are now in since the Koch brothers have sued Trump over his tariffs 🤣

I get blocked by perhaps a dozen people per day, but as far as I can tell I'm adding more followers. Thank y'all for thinking I make some good posts. For the ones who just follow me to post screenshots in an effort to demean my opinions or whatever, I guess all I can say is do what you got to do.

As of 6 pm today, 34 people were killed and 117 injured by the Russian strike on Sumy. Two of the killed and 15 of the injured are children. The Russian strike killed everyone in the Martynenko family - mom, dad and their son Maksym, a six-grader. Deepest condolences.

The measles outbreak in West Texas didn't happen just by chance. The preventable disease ripped through communities sprawling across more than 20 Texas counties in part because health departments were starved of the funding needed to run vaccine programs, officials say.

They are not your puppets. Stop using them as political cover.

It was nice knowing you, America. #uspol

Last night at about 2AM, my family and I woke up to bangs on the door from the Pennsylvania State Police after an arsonist set fire to the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg.

The biggest difference between the people Republicans want to deport and Republicans is the people Republicans want to deport are willing to pay taxes.

Disturbing overtones here from the Mail on Sunday, telling its readers that "Globalism" (along with something it calls "warmism") has "made us a weakling"... Supported by advertising from B & Q, Asda, Waitrose, Ryobi, PaddyPower, Prezzo & Boots

These two posts from @atrupar.com go well together don't you think?

Warren: Whenever there’s a crisis anywhere in the world—terrible things happen—and investors, you know what they do? Investors go to the United States government treasuries, because damn, it just doesn’t get any safer than that. Except with Donald Trump as president.

While CEOs, colleges, and law firms bowed to Trump’s threats, California is standing firm. We won’t cave, and neither will you.

More fund managers should have followed @gtconway.bsky.social account last year so that they would have worked harder to help us keep our economy humming along imho.

Ya think?

You killed it again! Thanks!!!

Last week, @stevenjdavis.bsky.social, @kencaldeira.com, colleagues published a big paper on how increased trade can reduce risks under decarbonization: rdcu.be/ehzOR. I wrote an introduction to the paper & what it means for energy security: rdcu.be/ehzO6. Today, this: www.nytimes.com/2025/04/13/b...

Not one that many people are willing to acknowledge though. These Republican policies are best explained by assuming that they want to weaken the USA and reduce America's soft power across the globe. Why they want to do this is best explained by the Krasnov theory about Trump too imo.

In my course on evolution and medicine I was discussing why—if fever is an evolved defense—we so often use antipyretic drugs to reduce fever. (FWIW, I think it's generally fine to do so.) "No one would prescribe an immunosuppresant to treat a deadly viral infection", I said. I forgot about RFK Jr.

Pathetic.
