Definitely showing this to my students. There is so much biology curriculum in this video that it will make for a great review, and a great example of how to use scientific and data literacy to back up an argument against a sketchy claim.

It’s weird to ask me why I said a thing I didn’t say, but I’ll tell you that I actually don’t feel one way or another about cloning pets, and if you take a thing that is bland human weirdness and ascribe disgusting ideology to it you will be more miserable while alienating people from your ideas.

The sidebar bit about dog cloning was a joke. The technology has other applications which are useful.

The laughing and sarcastic/dismissive tone conveyed that to me.

Some have expressed that the reason colossal is being dishonest is to appeal to investors, which I agree with, but they then go on to say that colossal has actual nonprofit oriented projects which they want funding for. I am skeptical of this. I don’t think they’ll do good if it loses money
