Center-left parties fail because the system corrupts. Once they get in power and taste the grift, they lose their morals. Government will never work anywhere until the lobbyists money is removed.

Assuming you're talking primarily about the USA: There are no "center left" parties. We have two right wing parties and one of them is failing because they've proved themselves to be utterly useless when they aren't harmful.

The "Left" begins with the rejection of capitalism.
