B&N pleasantly surprises me sometimes. my local B&N has a great selection of witchy books, and they also have a decent selection of books on Palestine. of course, i *always* shop my local bookstores first, but sometimes i pick up books at B&N i can’t find elsewhere.
Yeah they often have a good selection as they are a huge store. But we have seen so many of our local bookstores close because they couldn’t compete with B&N or Amazon 😭
amping up my efforts to Boycott Amazon has been enlightening. i was already mostly avoiding it, but lately i’ve been boycotting all the way.
i was recently contemplating all of the niche stores we’ve lost (including big box stores) thanks to Amazon. so many stores we’ve lost with nothing to…
…fill in the gaps of what was lost. while i’ve been able to easily find most things outside of Amazon, Target, or Walmart, a handful of items have taken a considerable amount of time and effort to find elsewhere, even while i living in a major city.
