The problem is the public has no idea what how critical IGs are. They uncover fraud and waste. They ensure our agencies work with upmost ethics and accountability. IGs are apart of what protects us from becoming a corrupt, third-world nightmare.

It appears Trump failed to follow the law requiring 30 days notice to Congress before firing an inspector general. He must also provide a “substantive rationale, including detailed and case-specific reasons." The president must provide this and follow the succession plan established by law.
