The BOS doesn’t prioritize affordable housing needs because they don’t hear much from constituents about it. If you live in the county and care about housing, let the BOS know! Email and attend meetings!!! It really matters!

The FY26 recommended budget for Albemarle is live! just looking through, sharing initial reactions re: housing:
- four cent property tax increase - nice, good...and...
- lion's share of increased rate goes to public safety, including a 14% bump to the police budget
