I have been thinking on the logistics of this for the past 10 minutes, coming up with simple and the most convoluted methods of gift wrapping and conclude:
i actually have an answer: last year we gave my FIL a nut grabber yard tool thing for Christmas, and I boxed up the head, then wrapped the box and pole in kraft paper. there was some inelegant paper folding / taping surgery around the box top where the pole joined, but it basically worked.
First of all - that's AMAZING! Alright? Second - I would completely paper-wrap it, and then put a bow on top. Like, choose the cheesiest paper possible and just go for it :D Leave the shape visible, too. It would be hilarious!
So FIL a few years back wanted a tree-jack (essentially scythe shaped, but with a foot on the end instead of a blade— get it under a downed tree and then lever it up off the ground to cut)

Just stick a bow on it. *throws up hands*
A friend of mine suggested I try to make it look like a candy cane this morning
Pre-owned or new?
And yeah.
I just stuck a bow on it
