when I was a kid back in 19-dickety-2 we maybe got a coloring book or something in the Easter basket but never a video game or anything wild like that. Just enough of a reward to keep you behaving during church
Because the rabbit lays the chocolate eggs: I t’s historically symbolic of a main deity performing a miracle of culinary science and… wait, no… yeah I got nothing.
I mean for my parents it would be like mostly like a nerf gun from the dollar store and like 7 bucks in dollar bills and quarters stored across several plastic eggs. It felt mostly like a reward for going to mass.
The formula is (the income level of the family × how festive the parents generally are)÷ how serious the family takes the religious aspect of the holiday = gift size.
Trick question; Christianity folded in ancient pagan spring festivals. Both have claims to use of eggs, which became eggs full of fun stuff which became baskets full of fun stuff? Idk everything can symbolize an empty tomb if your village really needs a spring break party
Yeah, I had an Easter basket that I decorated and left on the fireplace and after church I came home to find what the Easter Bunny left me. A bunch of candy and a action figure, usually.

As for the theology…fuckt if I know.
My mom tried really hard to make them special for us looking back at it.
