The Office of Special Counsel told thousands of probationary federal workers that it would not pursue their complaints about their firings, according to an email obtained by The Post.

The decision was a reversal of the position of the previous head of the office, who was fired by President Trump.

I think them telling the fired personnel this line suggests that the fired personnel actually DO have status. If I were one of them, I would sure as hell look to outside counsel to represent me.

The unitary executive theory is destructive for many reasons, but the most obvious one is that it obliterates internal checks on the president’s power within the executive branch. Congress created those checks to preserve democracy. SCOTUS dismantled them to kneecap democracy. It’s working.
