Thank goodness that the rewards for them (save for one that gives a more or less readily available resource) are all cosmetics. The game's movement is just not amenable to platforming it's sooooo sluggish and clumsy.
The creator of the game said " the gret rpg all have stupid difficult minigame in them. We wanted that for our game". The bloody volley ball mini game!
They could have decided all the content would be Good. But they bravely said "No. We are making an RPG. Some of the late game content will be janky, annoying and unrelated to all that came before." And I respect them for it.
Clair obscur is very much not designed for platforming. Although I finished the beach sections, I was ready to call it if it started being more frustrating than funny. The zone where you're balancing along picture frames in the black and white space can get in the bin though.
knowing what you don't like and not doing it in a game you otherwise like is a hard thing to master. the whole field of video games would be better if people could figure out how to say "that part's not for me, i'll have the rest of the cake tho" without going off the cliff
Yup. I tried the first beach a couple of times and noped out. Don't think I managed to return anything in volleyball. Completely ignored all the beaches after that.
