Trump has made a habit of ginning up crises and then declaring victory when he “solves” them. We in the media must stop giving this arsonist credit for his firefighting skills. https://wapo.st/4jSmj87

Ginning up crises also plays well into his reverse pump and dump stock market strategy. He'll announce something that makes a particular stock or sector tank, then a day or so later he'll fix it as we witness the benefit of the fix in a robust rebound. I believe a lot of wealth was made this way.
It's worse. Media is failing to point out that he has made concessions to other nations--stopping the river of guns into MX--for things the other nation was already doing--10,000 MX troops on border. MSM needs to consistently point out the ignorance, incompetence & illegality of Trump, Musk, et al.
It would help CNN would stop giving Scott Jennings a platform for exactly what you are describing. "Diversity of opinion" should not include having "opinions" on things that are objectively false.
Having experience with a real "fire in the building" arsonist, this was exactly the pattern: set the fire, discover the fire, put out the fire, receive praise. This worked until the time he was late with the "discovery".
For a pathological narcissist, this reasoning makes complete sense.
Trump's press secretary has a new way of spinning his ignorance (e.g., the sheer lunacy of his DOA "Gaza the New Riviera" plan). Claiming a moronic idea is part of a highly complex negotiating strategy allows Leavitt to bob, weave and wiggle out of having to explain, let alone defend it.
The mainstream media in this country is at a ‘fork in the road’ shall we say. Choose wisely. A lot of Americans currently are and it’s leading to your demise
His first Treasury Secretary was an executive producer for the 2015 movie, "Our Brand Is Crisis".
It's not like people shouldn't have known that Trump's brand is crisis. His national campaign finance chair literally made a movie that explicitly said so.
Wouldn't that be nice if it ever happened! Starting in 2015 the media built this megalomaniac up, put him on a platform like a *golden calf* (or cow). Drooling over every word. Watching as he mocked a disabled journalist and basically said...'yah, that's ok.' Disparaged John McCain's memory. #Mock
Thank you Ms. Rampell for your extraordinary courage and persistence. There are many excellent investigative journalists who are honest and effective. You however shine also under the bright lights.
It’s a major media failure and any “journalist” that covers his antics with anything short of “Trump backs down, agrees to status quo or worse” deserves to lose their byline.
Donald Trump is a pathological liar, a con man, a convicted felon, an idiot, a disgrace, a scumbag and is filled with greed, rot and malice. And anyone who voted for him or supports him should be ashamed. Sickening...🤮
The time has come for us to gather together and find ourselves a new generation of leaders who will help us rebuild after this administration is gone and provide for the health and well-being of the United States on into the Twenty second Century and beyond...
The most recent furor over Gaza is just another example of misdirection. We should be calling him, Mandrake the Magician instead of Trump. Even if everyone in the world wanted that to happen, (😂) what would the timeframe look like?
The Canada/Mexico tariff farce obscures the real charade. Tariffs were promised, not as carrot and stick, but as the new American golden goose. “Everyone” was getting slapped with 25% because that was going to balance the budget, pay down the deficit, and generally MAGA.
Whether fire bombing a fence is a good idea depends on what you expect to get from it. Trump just wants some positive short-term press. He doesn't care if what is behind it is bad for everyone else on earth. If it's bad for him, he figures he can generate another crisis and firebomb that for
Did Jeff Bezos clear this? I ask because it sort of seems to be the opposite of his current trend which is to suck up to the President at every opportunity.

Canute: SEE?? ONLY I COULD DEFEAT THE TIDE.
Seriously, thank you for your courage. It's far rarer than I'd hoped it would be, but it's still good to see

On February 3rd, Trump lifted the tariffs while claiming Canada and Mexico agreed to his demands.

Unfortunately, the people who need to read it, won't.
The entire wind-up about the tariffs played right into his hand, and now he's a hero.
The "winning" narrative will be disseminated by the alt-right kook "news". Along with FoxTabloidNews.
The "normie", "legacy", even if you want to call it "liberal" news can't really stop it. All they can do is expose it.
And the MAGAs won't notice anyway because they're in their bubble.
We don't have a functioning press to counter this. The game is already over.
But there are others doing a good job.
With conservative oligarchs backing these alt-right crank "news" orgs there's too much b.s. infecting people who want easy, angry answers.
The "info." age.
