Tariffs are going to transform our economy all right….just not the way Jabba the Trump thinks they will. But he won’t be around to suffer the consequences.

• Tariffs will raise prices.
• Fed layoffs will grow unemployment lines.
• Combo of tariffs + long unemployment lines = recession.
• Civilized world avoiding US tourist visits, student visas, and nonessential trade = recession.
• UN put USA two clicks below Myanmar's human rights = recession.
🇨🇦🇺🇦😂😂Good Luck with that, Doufus Donald Trump & Howard Ludnick.

Trump's right. His tariffs are well on the way to transforming a healthy economy into one that's in the toilet. Question, is he doing this because (a) he's stupid enough to believe this will work (b) he's trying to destroy our country (c) sowing chaos +destruction is part of his authoritarian plans?
It will transform it alright. It will push other countries to find other markets to sell to even if its harder at first. Once some manufacturing comes back to the US people will understand why it left. It is not cheap or efficient to make a lot of thing at home. There is no good outcome to this
It's pretty clear now that Trump completely misunderstands how tariffs work and how badly they will hurt consumers and our economy. They won't create a manufacturing renaissance no matter how Trump implements them. Utter stupidity.
We are going to end up being the lone fan sitting in the Rose Bowl on Sunday waiting for the game to start when the game was played on Saturday. He's destroying the ecoonomy based on a delusional theory.
Now he’s writing letters to French companies working for the US in France - get rid of DEI-type language or we’ll find someone else. Let’s see how well that goes over in a country where farmers regularly burn stuff in the streets to protest policies they don’t like.
That economy will grind to a halt! Which country will be investing in such an unpredictable mess while Americans set tariffs on their nations? Ask the people from the Latin America how tariffs work for them.
The higher the better at this point. It's better things blow-up faster, so the US consumer gets a huge wake-up call at their local grocery/dollar store. The faster the economy craters, the faster things will reverse course. Too many people in the US haven't been affected yet. Their turn is coming.
I remember when the GOP was ordering fainting couches in bulk over the negotiated drug prices with Pharma companies, calling them 'price controls' that violated the principles of a free market economy
The silence over Trump's car price control threat is deafening
Trump wants to turn the nation into a Dickensian factory where workers produce goods for export, without being able to afford what they produce, no rights to bargain, subject to summary punishment, and definitely no right to an education or health care. You have the right to remain silent, and work!
The bigger the tariff, the easier it is to extort US CEOs. The tariffs are just Phase 1. Phase 2 is when the bribes start flowing in exchange for “exemptions” to the tariffs.
His mistake is thinking everyone's playing poker when actually they're playing a non-zero-sum game and leaving the table to go have a nice round of Catan with their friends and leaving the loser to stew at the card table broke and alone.
Trump is quite literally too stupid to understand the concept of a non-zero-sum game. He's the kid in your elementary school who tried to win at playing on the see-saw.
"While it benefited industrialists & manufacturers, it was unpopular with consumers & farmers, who faced higher prices on imported goods. This dissatisfaction contributed to a backlash against the Republican Party, leading to Democratic victories in the 1890 midterms" https://chatgpt.com/share/67e83881-0354-8012-9218-373058e8387c
"the McKinley Tariff was a consequence of Gilded Age policies &priorities, it was not the cause of the era. The Gilded Age was shaped by factors such as post-Civil War industrialization, RR expansion, immigration, urbanization, & laissez-faire economic policies long before the tariff was enacted."
Decimating U.S. economy, dismantling govt. institutions, silencing political dissension, expanding socioeconomic gaps, exacerbating racial, gender + religious conflict, eroding Rule of Law, isolating U.S. from traditional allies, implementing authoritarian policies,...

2. How could a new tax become a "generational opportunity"?
3. A HUGE $4.7 Trillion tax cut for the rich & more taxes& less benefits to the working class.
4. Clearly, we are arriving at the new digital Gilded Age. Golden for the rich.
