A friend who had a stroke last year is caught up in this Social Security prove-your-existence mess. She has brain damage, uses a wheelchair and cannot drive. The Republicans degrade gov't services with impunity, because the worse it gets, the more people will hate the gov't.

It's a nightmare going into a SS office now. Given how they are closing a ton of them, people are going to go postal or give up which seems to be what they want. The first option is more likely. And what about the ones with disbilities or are homebound? This will be the tipping point.

My SS card was issued 47 yrs ago. My thinking is when they sent my replacement card since Doge took over I am who I say I am. I also had them send verification letter of my SS benefits as well as how much I've contributed into the system. At this point get any & all ducks in a row.

I started the process on- line just a few questions then they'll send a letter in the mail with a code that let's U finish setting up a SS account. It took me 13 days start 2 finish I started my husband's last night they R saying now the verification letter takes 15-20 days.

So for people like my father, who paid into Social Security his entire life, but is now in a memory care facility I guess he can never make changes? He can’t go to an office. He can’t be on the phone for hours. It’s his money. Taken every paycheck with no opting out.

Beginning of March I started a SS account online. It took 13 days from verification letter 2 having them send all the paperwork I need plus a new SS card. Hoping it proves 2 them who I am. I started my friends process last night. We're going 2 need 2 organize & help those EM is trying 2 eliminate 💔

My dad retired and needed to have SS adjust his monthly payment. He called. Repeatedly. He went to the office. Was told they would adjust it. It took them 2 years to adjust it. Said they were backlogged. Of course they wanted overpayment back (which they have now returned a chunk bc of the new law)

It’s also enables them to target Blue states with threats of cutting off payments to Blue state residents. Could shut down offices in a single state AND require in-person visits to get benefit checks.

Could be used to coerce states to bend to the regime’s will in any number of ways.
