I've done 1200 in a single stretch driving solo, and I had to stop more than twice just to use a restroom and stretch my legs. The joys of being freakishly tall.

EV range is just an "I want convenience at all costs" issue.

Most I ever did was 800 in a day and that was insane. This kinda range on a light truck with towing capacity would instantly replace my work truck. (obviously the range would go lower while towing, but lol a 600mi towing range would be perfect for literally any application)

I can't think of any reason to have any more than 1000km/620mi in a passenger vehicle. In something that tows then sure, more is good. But otherwise? Nah, no need, and instead of adding more and more range, how about we use less batteries to drop the material footprint and vehicle weight?

I value some provision against battery degradation but this does seem excessive ...there might well still be good reasons to be doing this testing though.

I agree. Hopefully some smart manufacturers will make low cost lighter vehicles. I've driven 1200 miles in a day and I really hope I don't ever do that again.

I did San diego to OKC in one stretch back in the day. thermos full of coffee in those days and lets go..
