My family and I,were freed by the Canadians!
“De Canadezen”. Friendships were formed and after the war they sent childrens clothes . ( Itchy bordeaux woollen trousers😂). And for many years a beautiful tin with fruit cake at Christmas.They knew how hungry and starved we were when they liberated us.

I am so filled with humility and pride when I hear these stories. I have several friends whose parents emigrated to Canada from the Netherlands, and half my own family is from there via Ukraine (Mennonites). ❤️
