I love the fact that Michael Whelan has always been so open about his processes and struggle. Following his career since I was young and realized that his cover art had effectively been my guide for finding good books for years, he has never hidden the amount of work it takes to make good imagery.

There's a small winter themed painting on my work table that I wanted to finish for the holidays but ran out of time. I got frustrated and smeared some of the colors on mat board I was using as a palette. 1/4
