S3E1 (of Marvel's What If...?) seemed meh because it didn't do anything with the characters.
Sam Wilson as a therapist gets referred to, but it doesn't go deep enough to be interesting. The Banner stuff just seemed redundant. And the other characters were just on screen.
I don't know the timeline of the series development, but it really feels like "What if...?" is the first victim of Disney's caving to right wing culture war bullshit.
Marvel's support for the status quo capitalism has always been there, but they're really hitting the audience hard with it. The Watcher gives "Moral of the Story" speeches. It's wild that the most subversive story seems to be Howard the Duck and Darcy.
