This trying to make sense of & share the world's software effectively, at real levels of depth & understanding - feels like something that should be institutional.

Governments or schools supporting folks diving in, trying to explain it all.

The best thing I ever found was this: https://github.com/microsoft/TypeScript/wiki/Using-the-Compiler-API

But even that isn't super complete and already assumes some knowledge here and there

Same. Also the types are pretty good, use that to your advantage.

Yeah gotta give it to them on the types being good. I just wish they had something between that doc and types sometimes – especially when new compiler features come out
