Please write in to Patreon if you feel strongly about being able to switch back to the per-creation billing model. There's a lot of discussion going on right now and Patreon is in a period of rapid policy change after the Epic vs Apple ruling.

Apple gets a 30% cut of all purchases made via iPhone/iPad apps. Epic just successfully fought that in court; now apps can get around those fees.
Patreon HAD BEEN charging 30% extra if you used the app to cover that fee, and was changing how things worked because of that. That's being reverted now.
Not sure about the patreon side of things but the Apple Vs Epic case recently ruled that Apple cannot stop companies from using other payment processors on their devices (which is why patreon is more expensive on ios, because apple takes a 30%(?) Fee on purchases with their processor)
Like they say this is still a work in progress... I think we will hear more news on the topic later this year. Either way don't stop talking about it and make them apple employees rage!!! 💖😊
Subscribestar's team has been largely MIA for a while and even before that seemed very arbitrarily selective in who they allowed to use their platform. Also, the need to make a certain amount before you can get paid fucks over artists with niche audiences. I wish I could use Subscribestar.
Oh man, thank you for this run down. Saw someone using them and was wondering why more people weren't using Subscribestar and was actually considering starting an account there once I got some stuff going. Could have been so dejecting and possibly put me off trying to art for income altogether!
