This reminds me of a story. I was the only freshman in a sophomore-level math class, and we were asked about an obscure integral trick.

I happened to know it, and when asked how, I muttered it was from "Calculus the Easy Way."

Everyone laughed. And I'm the only one who became a math professor.

Feeling very gratified by this whole thread, because my brother's a screenwriter and I've had arguments with him, about how even small accuracies can pay off for a show/film. If it doesn't compromise the plot, why not be correct, rather than making stuff up? Not everyone will "get it" but that's OK.
