That's good news at the margin, but honestly I still can't conceive any adult in the US, no matter how apolitical, being unaware of Trump's "you can grab them by the pussy," his descriptions of immigrants, or the basics of J6.

It's hard to poll those exactly questions, but exit polling showed that 18-24 year olds veered 11 points to the right compared to the 2020 election, while 25-29 year olds only moved 2 points to the right.

That suggests an experience effect is at least partly at play.

Asymmetrical by gender? My oversimplified model is that 18-24 women have moved globally a bit to the left and 18-24 men have moved a lot to the right, but I know it's oversimplified and it doesn't apply everywhere to everything.

Yeah, very much. "less than before" puts the blame on economic policy; "less than women" puts the blame, or at least the focus, on women. Perversely, this gives politicians an *incentive* to harm their bases as long as the responsibility is shifted to somebody they can attack.
