I was going to have my 8th graders read an excerpt from Letter from B’ham jail after we finish reading Night (part of my plan to indoctrinate the youth), but maybe I’ll add this to it. I’m secretly calling this quarter “nine weeks of resistance.”

The second is from his 1967 book, Where Do We Go From Here--a passage rich in insight about the ways we can (should!) obtain, embrace, and build *power* to work for justice. Love and Power: neither is sufficient on its own, but in tandem, a formidable force. Lots to sit with here.
