These are staples. Jovians eat these every day, them and their byproducts are as inescapable as corn in the modern USA. Yeast products are growing in popularity on RttS Earth, but algal farming is still niche because on Earth light and air are free and traditional dirt farming is cheap.

Spirulina derived food products? AMAZING and potentially very hypo allergenic with the added benefit of radiation protection as spirulina has compounds that can protect astronauts from the effects of radiation just by eating it. Love the fact we can make bread without wheat in space.

Well cultural food aversions don't have to make sense, but eating a whole bug and eating a mammal's head aren't the same thing to most people. The head is usually boiled for stock.

This is partly because a rabbit's head doesn't have a ton of meat in it, like the feet. There are ways to prep it for eating, but it's more efficient to just stick it in a pot and boil the nutrients out.
